Interview: The Dons

The Dons, a five member band from Edinburgh describe themselves as "60's inspired Mod/Alternative Rock". A fairly new band to the music industry, the lads only started making music earlier in the year and the reason for doing this was because of their idols. The band agreed to an interview with me and here is what they had to say.

Rock Revolver (RR) - How long have you been a band?
The Dons (TD) - We have been playing as a band about three months now.

RR - Who are your influences?
TD - We love real music most that means older bands like The Jam, The Kinks, Sex Pistols, The Who, The Beatles and The La's.

RR - Have you always had an interest in music, and if yes what started it?
Lewis - We saw Oasis on CD:UK one Saturday morning and fell in love, and have been in love ever since.
Jack - Busted split up and I had to do something about it.

RR - Where do you see yourselves in five years time?
TD - Well with the state that the music industry is in today, probably still playing small venues around Britain and trying to promote ourselves over the Internet.

RR - What is the best gig you have been to and why?
TD - T In The Park 2012: The Stone Roses, Noel Gallagher, Kasabian, The Enemy, The View, Happy Mondays, Miles Kane, Jake Bugg... What more can you say?

RR - Who would you most like to tour with and why?
TD - I'd imagine Jake Bugg could be pretty mental on tour. The View are wild as well aren't they? so probably them.

RR- Do you have any exciting plans for the future?
Lee - Lots of great songs.
Jack - Travelling and playing with other great bands.

I would like to thank The Dons for this interview and I wish them the best for the future.

The Dons' first single 'Home' is due for release soon so watch out for that.

The members of The Dons are:
