URF (University Radio Falmer) and Smashed Vinyl will join forces later this month to put on the station's first band night of term at University of Sussex.
Falmer House's Debating Chamber will be transformed into an intimate venue for one night only an there will be drink deals all night long, as well as a seriously impressive line-up of sickeningly talented bands set to grace the stage throughout the evening.
London's Dream Nails will headline the event with their brand of self-proclaimed 'queer feminist punk'. The four-piece are really making their mark on the DIY scene at the moment, owning everything they put their minds to and winning a legion of fans over in the process.
If you're looking for alternative punk with a furiously catchy riff or two; look no further than Dream Nails and make sure you catch their headline performance - we're predicting it will be as explosive as always.
Main support on the night will come from Brighton's King Bee. The duo call themselves "a twisted two-piece beast" and if that's not enough for you, wait until you witness their thumping, chaotic live show. Classic Rock Magazine are fans too and they're fast growing a positive reputation.
King Smo will also take to the stage with their "loud and proud alt rock". Offering something a bit different from the rest of the bands on the bill, the trio's bio simply reads 'nihilist RnB' - only at Sussex, right? Gig-goers will certainly be in for a treat with King Smo.
Punk rock troubadours, Radio Kids will also put in a performance at the event. The four-piece is made up of Sussex students and they claim to have been "born out of spite and a love of radio".
They've only just started out but already they fulfil the make-up of what is set to become an unmissable live band. Check out these buzzy newcomers on the night for yourself.
Opening the event will be fellow Brighton babes, Nesting. Another bunch of newbies to the local music scene in the city, they've got dreamy and dancey indie pop under their belts and describe themselves as "kinda lo-fi" and "pretty fun". Sounds good to us.
There's not much to listen to from them at the moment, apart from a demo, but new material is on the horizon and we're predicting a huge swell of chatter will form around them soon enough. Give them some support and love on the night.
