SHEIKH have been away for far too long, but fear not - they're back and ready to pick up where they left off.
Hailing from Bahrain but now living in London, the five-piece have finally released new tracks titled 'Fonda' and 'I Could Be Yours'.
Last time we saw them they were supporting The Magic Gang on a UK jaunt but now they're coming into their own; cue the buzz.
'Fonda' is a frenzied old favourite that's been given a spruce up and it's sounding as sleek as ever. The sub-five minute number is dominated by distorted chords and an uplifting bassline. It's a thumping slab of psych rock that is dark and danceable and will unquestionably propel them to further success.
'I Could Be Yours' is a throbbing, dreamy tune that sees Sheikh slow their sound down. As stirring as their live shows, the track is reminiscent of moments on Arctic Monkeys' 2013 album 'AM'. Both the production and vocal qualities sound remarkably similar to that of Turner himself.
Tracks like 'Fonda' and 'I Could Be Yours' suggests a growing ambition and serves as a hint to where Sheikh are headed next. Catch them at a live show and be swayed by their charms for yourself.
