North East native duo Atlas Wynd are the hidden gem buried in the musical hotbed of Brighton. With a full wall of sound akin to the likes of a younger and looser Arctic Monkeys and fellow thrasher duo Drenge, it won't be long before even more people discover their goodness - just don't compare them to Royal Blood.
Support comes from the incredible Guising and Frank & Beans who warm things up nicely and prepare for Atlas Wynd to take over and round things off with a bang.
Explosive from the off, they open with 'I've Had Enough', a single that stands tall and sees the duo unleash their unrelenting energy on the good-sized crowd that gather to watch the magic unfold.
Thunderous beats and monstrous riffs follow from the punchy outfit, who are met with nothing short of adoration throughout the duration of their stage time.
Running relentlessly through their tunes, the pair revel in every minute of their set and clearly put their all into the performance - something that more than pays off judging by the wild reaction of the crowd time and time again.
The band debut a blistering newbie that had been written just hours earlier and ask everyone to "clap anyway, even if you don't like it" but there was never a chance they wouldn't. It may be the song's debut airing, but the crowd are transfixed like it's a top 10 hit.
As brilliantly tight and polished as ever, there's a remarkable Queens of the Stone Age swagger about them as they give it their all on the final tune of the evening, 'Mona Lisa'. Make no mistake though, the band will rely on their own charms to win themselves more fans in the foreseeable future.
Atlas Wynd are the kind of band that thrives in small, dark venues such as the fantastic Sticky Mike's. The pair have been holding their own on the B-town scene for a while but this was the headline slot they needed to give them a real chance to shine and they put on a hell of a show.
