Oh Wonder return with 'Lifetimes', a refreshing song with hit potential

Oh Wonder's 2015 self-titled debut album introduced the English pop duo to the scene with a bang. Although far from a chart topper, the album received much critical acclaim and Oh Wonder achieved viral online success, with their electronic blend of indie and R&B proving popular.

A year and a half since the album's release, the duo has begun releasing tracks from their follow up, 'Ultralife'. If their latest offering, 'Lifetimes', is anything to go by, the album should match its predecessor's success, and perhaps may even propel Oh Wonder into the music mainstream.

The track opens with their signature unison vocals and immediately introduces the listener to the catchy chorus. Followed by the introduction of a punchy, R&B inspired beat and solo vocals, 'Lifetimes' goes from being a decent track with a good hook, to a memorable and refreshing song with hit potential.

It has become somewhat cliche to refer to vocals as 'haunting', but it has been a fitting description of Oh Wonder since their debut, and 'Lifetimes' is no exception, especially in the final notes.

The latest release by Oh Wonder is no doubt full of promise, and builds excitement for the album, 'Ultralife', due to be released this June - this summer may turn out to be one to remember for the duo.
