Birmingham four-piece Peace have had an incredible 2013 - now rounding things off with a festive spin on Wham!'s classic Christmas hit 'Last Christmas'. Currently touring the UK as part of their biggest headline tour to date, the band have kicked things off in style with a celebratory video to accompany their cover version of the festive tune.

Frontman Harry Koisser released a statement explaining how their cover came to be, saying "About a week before it's beginning, we realised our approaching UK tour ran straight in to the belly of the Christmas period. Despite our Scrugicidal Tendencies, we found ourselves in a bout of excitement. A miracle perhaps?

Anyway, we ended up pit deep in the festive moment and guided by the spiritual production of Blaine Harrison, we recorded a festive cover and shot some video doing it.

A fine addition to the B-Town line up arrives in the form of Superfood, who previously went by the name of Juunk. Despite being together for only a short amount of time, the Brummie four piece have already bagged themselves a support slot for fellow Birmingham boys Peace. Critics can't get enough of their rocky Britpop noise, fans are fired up waiting for the next instalment and the band themselves, consisting of: Dom Ganderton (lead vocals/guitar), Ryan Malcolm (vocals/lead guitar), Emily Baker (bass) and Carl Griffen (drums), are about to topple into a giant puddle of success, as more and more discover their intoxicating sound.

 

Catchy debut track Superfood is propelled by badass riffs and the refrain of "You're always hungry". Forging a music identity of their own, Superfood are rapidly steering away from competitors and pretenders and it's rough and ready tracks like these, with snarling and smashing drums, which will ensure their survival. What it is that really makes their self-titled tune shine, is the variation included within the song, alternating dramatically between a dose of chilled out rock and heavier sounds that serve as an indicator of what's to come.

Lovestruck Birmingham rockers, Peace, adopt a heavier more earth shatteringly awesome approach to making music with latest offering Follow Baby. Taking inspiration from Oasis, the group implode with no frills rock'n'roll claiming "We gon live forever". With their debut album In Love newly released and creating a head rush of excitement, Peace are the indie rock poster boys breaking boundaries and reviving British guitar music, with the assistance of fellow indie band Palma Violets.

PEACE, the breakout Birmingham four-piece, are one of the hottest bands around right now that you probably haven't heard of. Compared to the likes of The Maccabees, Foals and Two Door Cinema Club, things have been going extremly well for these lads lately.

 

NME described them as "poster boys for the UK's most promising new scene" and they're not wrong. There will always be emerging artists looking for a way to make it big, but it appears PEACE have paved a new path and swung the spotlight firmly into the midlands' direction.

 

So what can we expect from this band? Currently on tour, PEACE have already played a string of impressive gigs throughout 2012 so far (with more gigs being played by the day) international fans can catch the band when they visit The Netherlands and France, before returning to the UK for a series of gigs throughout December.

 

No album plans have been released yet, but considering their popularity I am sure they will be soon enough.
