The line-up for 2016's NME Awards Tour Shows have just been announced and bands such as Suede, Swim Deep and Mystery Jets are among the acts. 

The gigs will take place in February 2016 across various London venues and will also feature headline sets from artists such as Blossoms, The Strypes and Boots. 

Young rockers, The Strypes will kickstart proceedings with a gig at The Garage on February 1, followed by indie newbies Vant who will perform at The Lexington the night after.

NME's current 'Godlike Genius' recipients, Suede will play a headline show at the O2 Forum on February 12. The band's critically-acclaimed 'Night Thoughts' will be performed live in full, which will be followed up with another set in which the group will perform classics, fan favourites and rarities for the audience. 

Another notable gig that you should make sure to catch is Mystery Jets who will be marking their live return by exclusively performing material from their new album 'Curve Of The Earth' at the Electric Brixton on February 16.

Blending the creative talents of Sean Keogh and Patrick Hughes, A Lovely War is the product of their efforts, a newly formed Liverpool-based duo sculpting psych swirls ready to blow the music industry wide open. Their EP Ezra is an early taste of what's to come from this promising pair, and if Liverpool keeps throwing up raw talent in the vein of A Lovely War - NME might finally shift their omnipotent focus away from the B-Town scene to the northern bunch.

 

Acting as a snapshot of where they're currently at, Baby, Don't Be So Defensive serves as an emotional plea to a lover, and there's plenty of talk about what happened last night and 'where to go from hear' which raises lingering questions but we can let it slide for now. Beneath their light-hearted frills, there's a moody intensity flickering away with no likelihood of burning out anytime soon.

Whilst they may appear indebted to Vampire Weekend, particularly in places such as on hilariously ironic title-track Ezra, they can be forgiven as they fuse their 'borrowed goods' with aspects of reggae. An interesting move that sees a divide visualise between them and the rest of their fellow Merseyside music makers.

Final offering, Maxine, We're Alive! feels fit to soundtrack a Mario Bros Adventure, incorporating touches of a playful nature. It's rich, layered jangly twangs are the secret weapon to this EP and it becomes evident on this departing number why it was saved for the end. A Lovely War are destined for stages beyond their reckoning, a slot on Glastonbury's BBC Introducing Stage and an opportunity to show that they can hold their own playing further afield, rather than cutting their teeth on the Liverpool gig circuit is just what they need. Keep an eye out for this duo as they aren't set to disappoint anytime soon.

NME's annual Awards Tour has returned with announcements for February 2013. Headlining this year is Django Django, with their psychedelic revival and folk-futurism, the band have responded saying that by February they will have new songs ready to perform. Django Django are flanked by 'the new modfather' Miles Kane whose second album is set for release next year. Some people have already commented that it was strange not to see Miles as the headliner, however he said that playing he has been waiting to play this tour for years; he is just looking forward to getting on the road and playing the gigs.

Third on the bill are Palma Violets, the underground breakout stars who captivated music fans earlier this year when they attracted so much attention, seemingly from nowhere. Their regular basement gatherings quickly caught the attention of record labels and the music press. Their biggest achievement this year has been signing to Rough Trade, and now they are off on the NME Awards Tour.

The opening band are Peace (who are also my favourite new band right now). Much has been said about Birmingham's newest wave of talent and you have probably heard them already, but not realised it was them. Watch out for Peace as you will be humming their songs throughout the whole of 2013.

PEACE, the breakout Birmingham four-piece, are one of the hottest bands around right now that you probably haven't heard of. Compared to the likes of The Maccabees, Foals and Two Door Cinema Club, things have been going extremly well for these lads lately.

 

NME described them as "poster boys for the UK's most promising new scene" and they're not wrong. There will always be emerging artists looking for a way to make it big, but it appears PEACE have paved a new path and swung the spotlight firmly into the midlands' direction.

 

So what can we expect from this band? Currently on tour, PEACE have already played a string of impressive gigs throughout 2012 so far (with more gigs being played by the day) international fans can catch the band when they visit The Netherlands and France, before returning to the UK for a series of gigs throughout December.

 

No album plans have been released yet, but considering their popularity I am sure they will be soon enough.

As I've said before I like discovering new music; below is my list of latest finds that I love.

• The Cast Of Cheers

I've only discovered this band within the last week, although I've had their album Family on repeat ever since. I like their sound a lot, it's not that much different from what I usually listen to though - they're a typical alternative band, with comparisons drawn to the likes of Theme Park and Zulu Winter.

The Cast Of Cheers will be supporting Howler on NME's Next Generation tour this October.

• Jake Bugg

The Nottingham shire native has achieved much success in such a short space of time. The 18 year old debuted his first EP Taste It earlier this year, which has proved a hit. A few of his tracks have been picked up by radio stations, including Radio 1 and XFM and have since achieved regular airplay. His album is set to be released on 15th October (my Birthday!) and if you're a fan of Bob Dylan then you should definitely purchase Jake Bugg's debut, as he channels Dylan's vibes into a creation of his own.

• Splashh

The London based band have only started to receive recognition for their work. Signed to Luv Luv Luv the indie four piece have only a few songs to their name, however that doesn't stop them from being brilliant. I found out about Splashh via NME, who have tipped them for big things and I believe they are destined for great things too.
