Recently signed to Rob da Bank's independent record label, Sunday Best, Devonshire singer-songwriter Alice Jemima has established an appealing formula of sultry sweet vocals and progressive electronic production that will take her to the next level.
Her self-titled debut album features dusky melodies backed by elements of indie and pop that are merged together deliciously, with 'Electric' and 'When You Dance' standing out as some of the finer moments the release has to offer.
Speaking to Clash, the musician explained how music runs in her family and she experimented with it as a child. "I didn't start singing until I was a bit older, but it's been a big part of my life."
The tracks on her album are centered around romance primarily but Jemima also reflects on youth and past relationships too.
Taking her influences from the likes of The xx, Shura, Lana Del Rey and more, her music feels the most akin to The xx and Alt-J at times. Alice Jemima's charm lies in her minimal pop soundscape and it's one you'll certainly fall head over heels for.
