Preview: Christopher Matthewson, Amelia Caesar & Tagore Chayne

Hot Wax Promotions are bringing you a chilled acoustic gig at Marwood's in Brighton on August 4th to take your mind off the heat with a few tunes. The line-up places a heavy focus on local talent, featuring Tagore Chayne, Amelia Caesar and a headline performance from Christopher Matthewson.

Irish singer-songwriter, Christopher Matthewson is now based in Brighton and will bring his unique blend of folk and psych rock to the intimate venue when he takes the headline slot. Previously he's been described as someone who "plays guitar like Neil Young and writes like Joni Mitchell" and the avid session musician will no doubt bring a captivating performance to the Brighton crowds when he fills the venue with his slick numbers.

Shrewsbury via Brighton songstress, Amelia Caesar recently released her debut single 'Our Love' and whilst she may still be unsigned, the young musician is pricking all the right ears. With influences ranging from Mumford and Sons to Lucy Rose to Gabrielle Aplin and Jack Johnson, she has been performing live since she was 12 years old and the folk-soul sound of her music has been described as "beautiful" by BBC Introducing in Shropshire. Amelia will record new material this summer but for now you can hear her tracks at Marwood's and she's not one to disappoint.

Opening the night is Tagore Chayne, another Brighton dwelling musician. The singer/songwriter has been making a name for himself over the past four years or so and has been hard at work touring the country to draw in even more support. Keep an ear out for new material at this very special chilled gig.

Tickets are £2 and can be bought on the door.
