Dot To Dot Festival announces first wave of artists

The first wave of artists has been announced for Dot To Dot Festival 2017.

Now in its 12th year, the festival is widely known for unearthing new music and will return to Manchester, Nottingham and Bristol on 26th-28th May this year.

2016 saw a record number of people attend the festival, with the Manchester event selling out entirely.

The small festival's success is expected to continue in 2017 with an established line-up of emerging and established artists to boast.

Sundara Karma take the headline slot and will bring their melodic brand of indie-pop to the forefront of the festival.

Shortly after it was announced, the band took to Twitter to share the news with fans, saying they were "very happy and proud to be headlining" and that when they first played Dot To Dot they were "on at 2am" and had "5 folks watching us".

The four-piece's meteoric rise and smash-hit debut album is reason enough for them to be awarded headliner status and we can't wait to see how well they will fare in the role.

Joining them will be past Dot To Dot performers, Amber Run, who have recently released their eagerly-anticipated and spectacular second album.

Other notable artists included in the announcement includes: Honeyblood, Cherry Glazerr, All We Are, Liv Dawson, Island, Swimming Tapes, Willie J Healey and Yonaka.

Adam Lockwood, Dot To Dot's organiser spoke of the festival, saying: "After our record breaking festival in 2016 we are so excited to bring the festival back to Manchester, Bristol and Nottingham this year!

"We are always proud to see so many previous Dot To Dot artists become huge successes, with Sundara Karma working their way up the ranks to headline this year's event.

"We pride ourselves on finding and nurturing new artists, we can't wait to see the stars of the future playing in small venues this year before their big breaks."

The first announcement is said to be the tip of the iceberg, with a further dazzling array of artists still to be announced in the run up to the festival.
