With a general election looming over our heads, now more than ever we need a day with plenty of good music! Live At Leeds is the annual one day festival that puts a much needed spotlight on the emerging talent the UK has to offer.
Just so you don't get drunk and end up at Rag'n'Bone Man (god forbid) here's a handy guide of who to see this year!
Matt Maltese
Arguably the best emerging singer/songwriter, Matt wonderfully crafts heart-wrenchingly beautiful music from not so beautiful situations. Most recent single 'As The World Caves In' offers a brutally honest take on love in the dystopian landscape of the UK.
HMLTD
Spearheading the new breed of young talent in London, Happy Meal Limited are the embodiment of exciting. A boiling pot of musical influence has helped them to make their own unique sound, a visceral charge of guitars with an electronic edge.
DMA's
With their debut 'Hill's End' released only last year they've made a massive impact in the last year. Surprisingly hailing from Australia, they clearly wear a strong influence from Oasis other 90s' legends.
Whilst their music can touch slightly on the 'Lad-rock' side, they do have genuine talent and where bands like The Sherlocks fail, DMA's can clearly control a crowd and are ready to lead the charge. If you're looking to get emotional to their hit single 'Delete' or get covered in beer in a raucous crowd - they are the band to see!
Yonaka
Brighton four-piece Yonaka are making all the right noises recently. The standout vocals of frontwoman Theresa Jarvis are incredible and quite rightly garnering lots of media attention. If hearing their single 'Drongo' doesn't have you itching to hear more and see them live, then you're wrong and don't give me shit about music being subjective because you are wrong, end of.
Dream Wife
Icelandic outfit Dream Wife are another on the 'not to be missed' list. Their grunge hits are making them a big name and rightly so, from 'Hey Heartbreaker' to 'Somebody' they're bursting with talent. If you're looking for some catchy grunge hits then look no further because they will have the Brudenell bouncing.
The Big Moon
I first got the chance to see this lovely bunch at Glastonbury last year and they were the perfect antidote to the mud and rain dominated weekend. Fresh off the back of releasing their debut album they'll be more than ready to showcase all the hits from that. If you're wanting to dance the night away then I have no doubt The Big Moon are the band to see.
The Moonlandingz
The opportunity to see the most exciting band around at one of the finest venues in the North is not to be missed. Lias Saoudi, frontman of the outstanding Fat White Family has released a frankly outstanding debut album with his side project, The Moonlandingz. I can't stress how the chance to see them at the Brudenell has potential to be the highlight of the festival and probably life in post-Brexit Britain.
