Following the news of Margaret Thatcher's passing, Liverpool based singer/songwriter Thomas McConnell has released his version of events with latest track Miss Maggie T. An extraordinary tune, McConnell first wrote this at sixteen, but it is only now at twenty he felt it was time to share it with the world.
As always, Beatles vibes surround McConnell's work in abundance and the hooks are deliriously catchy. It's a song which doesn't pretend to be anything other than it is - a psychedelic wash or rawness, honesty and lulling vocals. Miss Maggie T is a tranquilising masterpiece that will subdue any sadness of the former Prime Minister's death.
McConnell's releases are always authentically thrilling and polished. Keep an eye out for him as it won't be long before Thomas McConnell is the name on everyone's lips.
