Each new Declan McKenna track sees the artist grow stronger and catchier. This is certainly the case with his new single 'The Kids Don't Wanna Come Home'.
The promising artist has some seriously impressive songwriting credentials to date. McKenna has tackled the challenging discourses of transgender issues, race and religion in previous tracks and made tunes that make you want to get up and dance.
His latest release 'The Kids Don't Wanna Come Home' was penned shortly after 2015's Paris terror attacks and is his most emotive track yet.
The track is McKenna's response to the youth seemingly being excluded from political discussions and losing their voice to those in power with all of the control.
The artist spoke of the new number, saying: "'The Kids Don't Wanna Come Home is a song I wrote about being a young person in the modern world.
"It's about wanting to challenge fears and be part of a movement of change, and looking for hope despite a lot of dark and horrible things happening around the world."
